Disney Advice

Guys! I’m in the early stages of planning our first trip to Disney World and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando and I am PUMPED AF.

In my 39 years on this planet, I’ve never been to Disney World. My nugget is finally at an age (and height) where he can do a busy day in a park, ride all of the rides and really enjoy the experience. So we are planning our first trip now. We’re looking at going in the off season of next year (but before hurricane season kicks into high gear).

So my question: looking at all of the information online is daunting. If you’ve been to Disney and the Wizarding World, what are your must-see attractions? We’ll be in Orlando for a full week so we aren’t rushed visiting all of the parks and seeing the sights. What should we cram into that week?

This trip is going to be even more special because, after 9 years of trying, my kiddo is FINALLY obsessed with Harry Potter. We just finished Chamber of Secrets and we’re starting The Prisoner of Azkaban. He set a goal to finish all seven books before we visit the Wizarding World because he’s worried about spoilers. As a long-time Potterhead, it’s so cool to be able to his love for the series growing with each book. So I know we’ll spend a good amount of time (and too much money) at the park.

So lay it on my guys! Share your expertise. Help us avoid the noob mistakes. I’m counting on you.

Tulsa Landmarks: Daylight Donuts

I guess this is becoming a series. 😊 This was always my favorite donut shop growing up in Tulsa, with that classic mid century neon sign out front. It fell into disrepair over time but, thankfully, @livileesdonuts ‘s took over the location, refurbished the sign and renovated the shop. We still stop in often for donuts. 🍩

Hi friends! How has your week gone? It’s Friday! All the woots. It’s been a busy week personally and professionally. I’ve had a couple exciting commissions I’ll tell you about later, but thought I’d stop in and share a couple pieces I’ve posted on Instagram recently.

I’m feeling all the spring vibes and celebrating with some new houseplants.

Are you guys feeling the spring vibes?

Off Planet by Aileen Erin

Guys! I’m pretty excited to share this one with you! I’ve had a couple projects in the works recently that I’ve been DYING to talk about. Here’s one them!

I had the honor of collaborating with the mega-talented USA Today Bestselling author Aileen Erin on creating some promo illustrations in support of her new release, OFF PLANET, coming March 19th.

I’m almost done reading it YOU GUYS...you need to read this book. It’s sooooo good! If you love an immersive world and a strong, relatable heroine...this is your jam.

Also, OFF PLANET was picked for Apple Books’ Best Books of March! How rad is that?

This is one illustration; I’ll share a few others I made for OFF PLANET as we approach the release date. Thank you for letting me a small part in the launch of your book, Aileen! Can’t wait to see this one top the charts soon!

Working on this was such a treat! I can’t wait to share the other illustrations with you guys soon!

You is Kind

You ever have one of those days where you feel like you can’t win? Today was one of those days for me. Things outside of my control really tried to get me down but I managed to shake it off.

It was a good day; I got a lot done with work. finished up an illustration project that I’m excited about (and will share with you guys soon). This quote from The Help kept popping into my head. (Bee tee dubs can you believe that movie is 8 years old?!) .

Here are the individual drawings, if you’re into that sort of thing. :)

The weekend begins tomorrow, loves! I’m all in for that ish. I have a couple posts in the works for this weekend, so I’ll talk to you soon!
